Training Healthcare Workers of Tomorrow
As a leading independent senior healthcare system in Wisconsin, our size, the breadth of services we offer, and our staff resources provide unique opportunities for us to partner with colleges and universities in our community.

We offer a complete continuum of care for mind, body and spirit whether older adults live in our home, or their own. Because of this we can offer medical fellows and nursing students valuable mentoring as they gain practical experience in a variety of care settings. We invite healthcare students-in-training to walk in our shoes and learn first hand from older adults what the journey of aging is all about.

Our partnerships illustrate our commitment to bringing more nurses, physicians and other healthcare professionals into geriatrics. Healthcare for older adults is in a crisis with the number of physicians, nurses and dentists trained in geriatrics declining. Pair this with a rapidly growing population of older adults and access to healthcare professionals skilled in geriatrics could be limited in the very near future. Today, senior adults account for half of all healthcare patients while fewer than 9,000 of the our nation's 650,000 licensed physicians have met the qualifying criteria in geriatrics.
